Standard Rancher in Bend, OR updated with a mid century flair

Wilson Ave is our second home and second renovation. Built in 1980 this was a "newer" home compared to our Philadelphia home. It was a blank slate and a simple box. Main upgrades to the home include the exterior and the kitchen/living room.

The exterior, originally just standard T1-11 was updated by adding battens to the seams and updated to a modern green.  The garage was finished with reclaimed Douglas Fir and a new garage door was installed. The waterfall porch and new posts beautifully completed the front design.

The original kitchen/living room design had a wall going between the living and dining room. Taking this down was the most obvious upgrade to modernize the space. Given that our house is only 1000 sq ft we decided to go with a lot of built in furniture to maximize our space.
